Virtual Internships
As Trinity students launch careers, experience is the best teacher.  An internship experience abroad is even better!

Internships help Tigers unleash talent that is tough to replicate.  For generations, Trinity has connected its students to career opportunities through internships across Texas, the United States, and the globe. Regardless of academic major or presumed career field, Trinity interns have discovered why the University has always prided itself on experiential education: because there’s no teacher like experience.

Almost all fall and spring semester programs that are approved by Trinity University offer a virtual internship for academic credit. Internships vary when it comes to language abilities, placement availability, academic disciplines and professional fields. If participating in an internship while abroad interests you, please speak with your Study Abroad Advisor about which programs will best suit your needs.  If you cannot go abroad, but still would like the experience of working in an international internship, then you are in the right place.

Please find below a list of providers who offer virtual international internships during the semester term(s) for a variety of majors and are available to all language levels.  This list is not set in stone, so if you come across another international internship opportunity, please contact the Study Abroad Office.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Should I get approved from Trinity first?
A: Yes, we highly recommend that you complete the Transfer Credit Approval Form first before you pay anything.  If you are not approved, we would not want you to lose your money.

Q: Can I enroll in more than 18 hours?
A: You can enroll in a maximum of 18 Trinity hours. However, virtual internships are transfer credit and are not factored into your Trinity semester course load.  Technically, you can do 18 hours at TU and 3 with a provider at the same time. Please consult with your academic advisor if this is something you wish to do.

Q: How are the internship credits applied to a Trinity degree?
A: The internship credits are transfer work. They will count towards general elective hours towards your Trinity degree, but will not be factored into your Trinity GPA.  You will need to seek approval from your Department Chair if you wish to have the internship count towards a degree requirement for majors or minors.

Q: Who pays for the internship?
A: The student is responsible for all fees associated with the virtual internship.  All costs are paid directly from the student to the internship provider.

Q: Are there Scholarships/ Grants available from Trinity?
A: No, funds are available at this time.

Q: Must a transcript be sent back to Trinity?
A: Yes, students who enroll in non-Trinity institutions are required to submit an official transcript to Trinity.
